NEW MOUNTAIN GREEN MIDDLE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION
Tyrel Mikesell has been appointed by the Morgan Board of Education to serve as the principal of the new Mountain Green Middle School. Mr. Mikesell has been employed by the Morgan School District for the past 11 years – most recently as the Assistant Principal at Morgan High School. He was raised in Henefer, Utah, and graduated from North Summit High School. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Utah State University in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor’s Degree from Weber State University in Business Education. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. He taught keyboarding and CTE Intro at Morgan Middle School for five years and has been the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Morgan High School for five years. He is married to Katie Mikesell and has five children: Milly, Ainsley, Maisy, Maddux, and Calvin. Baseball is his passion. He likes spending time in the outdoors and likes photography.
Dr. Gina Stuart has been appointed by the Morgan Board of Education to serve as the Assistant Principal, part-time, at Mountain Green Middle School. She will continue to serve as the Assistant Principal at Morgan Middle School, part-time. Dr. Stuart has been employed by the Morgan School District for the past 33 years – most recently as the Assistant Principal at Morgan Middle School. She has taught health, physical education, intramurals, and advanced reading all at Morgan Middle School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education, two Masters Degrees, one in Health and Physical Education and the other in School Library Media along with an administrative endorsement. She also has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a reading emphasis. She was born in Logan, Utah, and graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. She has been an adjunct professor for Utah State University. She enjoys gardening, photography, reading and scuba diving. She is a certified dive master.
Both Principal Mikesell and Dr. Stuart will continue in their current capacities until the new building reaches completion in May. During the interim, they will be assembling a parent community council, creating a school web page, hiring staff, and considering enrollment. They will be sending updates via the current Morgan Middle School email system. Part of the Board’s long-term building plan was to appoint current administrators already employed by the district. The Assistant Principal vacancy at Morgan High School created by Mr. Mikesell’s departure will be opened to interested applicants in the Spring.

The Morgan School District is reminding students born in 1993 who attended special education programs in the district that the deadline for requesting school records is fast approaching.
Records requests should be submitted to Steve Wood, Special Education Director. Please put the request in writing and either mail it or deliver it in person to the Morgan School District office. You may also email a request to firstname.lastname@example.org The address for the district office is 67 N. 200 E. Morgan, Utah, 84050.
Please submit requests before January 31, 2019. All records of students born in or before 1993 will be destroyed after that date.
