MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Welcome back to an exciting school year in the Morgan School District! I am happy to announce our new buildings have been inspected by the State Fire Marshal and are safe and approved for use. The new road to Mountain Green Middle School is also complete. School will begin on Tuesday, August 27th as planned.
Our existing buildings have also undergone some updating. Morgan Elementary School has new interior classroom space, paint, playground equipment, preschool, and a new parent pick up/drop off lane with additional parking. Morgan Middle School has newly remodeled P.E. locker rooms, remodeled classroom space, a new entrance vestibule for safety, and a remodeled main office. Mountain Green Elementary School now includes a preschool and playground safety enhancements.
There will be an open house/ribbon cutting ceremony tonight at MGMS for parents and students who reside within school boundaries and other invited guests. The open house at Morgan High School will be held on September 10th from 3-6 p.m.
Some parts of our school projects will not be completed when school starts, which we knew from the beginning of the process. We appreciate the diligence of Hogan Construction at MHS and MGMS, and Wilkinson Construction at MES. You will see landscaping, fencing, paving, and masonry work continuing in the next few weeks. You will be receiving additional information from your school principal regarding parent pick up/drop off and other useful information.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during the construction process. The new additions to the district will have a positive impact for many years to come. The members of the Morgan Board of Education have worked conscientiously to be wise stewards of your tax dollars.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
