UPCOMING EVENTS
Thanks to all the children who participated in the Inspirations Contest. We have VERY talented children at Morgan Elementary!! We will be doing things a little differently for the Celebration of the Arts this year. We will hold an assembly for the children during school hours and give out the awards to each of the winners. We feel this will give all the children the opportunity of seeing all the wonderful winning entries for each of the catagories. Then, during Parent/Teacher conferences, all the artwork will be displayed for the parents to admire. In the past, we have had comments telling us how difficult it is to get their families to the Celebration of the Arts during weeknights, so we thought we would try something a little bit different.
A VERY sincere "Thank You" goes out to Suzanne Gibb and her committee for doing such a great job on both the Inspirations and Celebration of the Arts Programs this year!!
Dr Seuss Week is coming the first week of MARCH. We will have the following dress up days:
Monday-Crazy Mix Up Monday (Wear silly socks, 2 different shoes, wear shirt backwards, etc)
Tuesday-Wear Green Day
Wednesday-Crazy Hat Day (to be worn after lunch for the rest of the day)
Thursday-Crazy Hair Day
Friday-Pajama Day
The reading for Dr Seuss Week starts the first of February. If the students read a combined total of 300,00 minutes, we will have a school wide ice cream party (please support your child(ren) in reading at least 20 minutes each day, preferable more). We will also have a special guest come on Friday like we did last year.
We are scheduling Dad's & Donuts for April 30, 2010. Due to some constraints we may need to hold it all on one day, but we will let you know more as soon as we can!
Please remember to continue sending in your box tops, milk lids and Campbells lables. At the rate we are going, we may not need to request any donations next school year!! These have been great fund raisers for the PTSO in helping to fund the field trips and school activities! Please remember we are not collecting plastic bags any more as the program has been discountinued.
Everyone is welcome to attend our PTSO Board meeting the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am. We are meeting in the conference room at the school.
EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Morgan PTSO is excited to announce our partnership with Papa Murphy's in South Ogden. Papa Murphy's (Next to Albertsons) will donate a portion of all pizza orders to the Morgan PTSO. When you purchase pizzas or Jazz Meal Deal Monday-Thursday, Papa Murphy's will donate $1 - $3 ($3 for every family size pizza, $2 for every large pizza and $1 for the Jazz Meal Deal). You can still use your Papa Murphy's Coupons to purchase your order. You must present a coupon (which is being sent home) when purchasing your order (If you forget your coupon, please mention this promotion anyway. It is better to bring the coupon in with you, however). Please use the coupons throughout the summer as well. This is an on-going, year round partnership! Click here for extra coupons to print.
Just a reminder when you shop online, if you will go to the "Box Tops for Education" website-- http://www.boxtops4education.com/Home.aspx --then click on Marketplace, you can shop at almost all the stores you already shop on-line, but the stores will donate a small percentage of your purchase to our school. "Thank you" to all of those already using this resource for our school!! Remember, you will not pay more for your purchase, but our school benefits from the store's donation.
